‘Dancing With The Stars’: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Returns To Poland To Aid Ukrainian Refugees

Maksim, for his part, had just arrived back to the United States after initially being stuck in Ukraine amid the war. While he was happy to be back in order to see his wife and child, the very fact of the matter is that he admitted to suffering from survivor’s syndrome.

As such, having that guilt of being able to make it out alive while others may not have had the opportunity to do so, it left him with mixed feelings. That is why he decided to use his platform in a way that could provide help outside of the country to those that had fled.

In a video to his fans on Instagram, he said: “I spent some time at home. I enjoyed some of that Los Angeles weather, saw my family, saw my friends, you know, obviously, spent some time, and we’ve been working on tangible opportunities to help.”

And as part of that process, Maksim had decided to set up a charity called ‘Baranova 27.’ The name is in reference to the street that the star had grown up in while he was in Ukraine.

Once any funds are raised, Maksim will be showing full transparency over how they are going to be used to provide some much-needed help to all those suffering. And by doing this, he wants to use his voice in a positive way so that others may have the courage to do something similar.

He added: “It didn’t end or slow down; it got worse in Ukraine. The humanitarian crisis is getting worse, people are getting hurt worse, there are more people hurt, and there are more people affected.”

It is great to see Maksim going out of his way and giving back to the community. He has been through a lot of late, but he is not letting that get in the way of him trying to make a difference. And that should be commended going forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this?
