Cheryl Burke has regretted criticising Ian Ziering during her time on Dancing with the Stars.

‘Dancing With The Stars’: Cheryl Burke Regrets Criticising Ian Ziering

While Cheryl did issue an apology, that did not take away the criticism coming her way. In an episode of her podcast Pretty Messed Up, she said: “The one thing I truly regret and want to make amends with is Ian Ziering…I did a podcast where they were asking me who my favorite partner was and who did I hate the most…I said something along the lines of ‘I’d rather slit my wrists than dance with Ian Ziering again.”

And yet, it was hard to understand why Cheryl would say that. Ian was hardly a bad dancer. After all, the duo had made it to the semi-finals during their time on the show’s 4th season. Not only did they impress the judges, but the public were also behind them. But that is not how Cheryl saw it. In a prior interview on the Allegedly podcast, she said: “I was, like, crying to the executives.

“I was like, ‘Is there any way to please just eliminate us?’ They’re like, ‘We can’t. We can’t do that.’ And I swear, every time I asked, we just kept going. We would last till the end.” So how did Ian take all of this? Well, unlike Cheryl, he remained silent about the whole thing. It did have a significant impact on Ian, though. He did take it to heart, as he had reportedly made his feelings clear to another professional, Tony Dovolani.

Nevertheless, Cheryl acknowledged the gravity of her actions. She added: “There’s no excuse. No matter if it was a joke or not, I know it hurt him, and I know it hurt his family. It was a big deal.” Ian, for his part, did have some support. TV host Jaymes Vaughan let everyone know just how great the actor had been. In a previous post to his fans on Twitter, he said: “For what it’s worth, I’ve worked with @IanZiering on stage and on TV and loved the dude every time.”

It is unlikely that they will be dancing together anytime soon. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish. Please also visit TVRocker for all of the latest exciting news on all of your favourite daytime television soaps.
