Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle came out in full force for the Salute to Freedom Gala at the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum in New York City on Wednesday night.
In fact, the internet is abuzz with the fact that the Duchess of Sussex wore a low-cut custom made and red Carolina Herrara dress that has certainly showed off more than we’ve ever seen from her before. Here’s what critics have to say about it.
Critics Are Not Loving Meghan Markle’s Red Gown At The Sault to Freedom Gala
Many fans commented on Meghan’s dress with, “The fit of the gown is really bad. I saw pictures on Hello and the back and straps were way too tight and made it look like she had rolls spilling out (not that she does but it was so tight that her skin was very pinched and spilled weirdly out) the front had the same issue her breast on the side was pushed up and out and spilling.
It was just super bad tailoring/fit,” along with, “I think it would have been awesome without the overskirt/train thing. When I look at just the underdress, it’s stunning and the simple column skirt of the underdress goes better with the fun neckline and back. I think as it is, it has one too many design elements.
Interesting top and neckline with simpler skirt or big floofy overskirt with a simpler top would be my preference. It looks cool from the back though!”
Another critic wrote, “I said on Twitter that at first I didn’t like the top of the dress, but the more and more I look at it the more I love the whole look. It’s a statement dress. Last time we saw Meghan at a military event similar to this one she wore all red and looked fantastic but was covered from her neck to her toes with only her arms showing.
Here, she’s making an entrance, she knows the British tabs are going to have a meltdown and she doesn’t give an eff and it’s glorious to see.” How do you feel about Meghan’s look?
