Counting On spoilers finds that, on TLC’s hit show, the Duggar family is very tight knit. In fact, they have been known to keep a lot of things in the family! As the Duggar children have started growing up and having families of their own, Jim Bob and Michelle still want what is best for their huge family. This includes family retreats.
Counting On Spoilers: Going on a Couple’s Retreat
The married couples in the Duggar family recently went on a couple’s retreat. Some of the couples were really excited, but others were confused on what they would be learning as part of this retreat. As the couples were going through the rooms at the retreat, they did notice something strange. The rooms all had two bed in them! One of the Duggar children even said that the couples could wear blindfolds!

The reason behind this retreat was to see what kind of bond the couples have and to work on their relationships. Austin and Joy Duggar were asked what they were hoping to get out of the retreat and Joy said she wanted to work on their relationship, while Austin simply said, “I hope she gets a lot of work done.” It seems that they may be a couple that does need the extra work in their relationship.
During the retreat, the couples learn that they will be focusing on communication, commitment, and compromise. The couples knew that this would be quite a lengthy process, but this is the start of what will prove to be good learning techniques to use in their marriages. Communication seems to be the toughest one for most of the couples and even Jim Bob and Michelle weighed in on how some of the couples need to talk to each more, while there are a few that don’t need to talk as much!
The couples retreat really seemed to help some of the couples with their communication skills and how they react when they are mad or hurt. We hope that we will continue to see this throughout the show too. This retreat did have some funny moments and we are still interested on what happened with all of these couples sleeping in the same room!
