TLC disgraced star, Josh Duggar will not have to wait much longer to hear his fate as his sentencing date has now been set.

The 19 Kids & Counting alum was arrested by the federal government and turned himself in to the county jail in late April, 2021. Some eight months later, just around the same time as Christmas and the birth of his seventh child, Madyson, he was found guilty on two child pornography counts.

Now Josh Duggar’s sentencing date has been set for April 5, almost a full year after his initial arrest.

The Duggars: Josh Duggar’s Sentencing Date Has Been Set

The eldest Duggar son was initially released on bail and under the strict condition he not live with his children until his trial. The trial began in late November, and he was found unanimously guilty by a jury of both receiving and possessing child pornography, with the names of the files including the age of the child victim and the words “pedo” in the titles…aka, he knew what he was downloading.

Josh was booked into the Washington County Detention Center immediately after his conviction and has been there since.

Josh’s legal team filed a motion for a new trial or an acquittal in January, the whole house of cards hinging on the claim that there is no evidence the reality television star personally viewed the child pornography. The prosecution filed a response just a few days ago, saying in part that “The evidence of the defendant’s guilt is clear and overwhelming,” and strongly suggested, “the Court should deny the defendant’s motion in its entirety.”

It seems the court agreed with the prosecution and the sentencing date was set.

Josh faces up to 20 years in the slammer and up to a quarter million dollars in fines for each count.

Of course, all eyes are on Josh’s embattled wife and mother to his seven children, Anna Duggar. Most hope she will leave her husband who has humiliated her time and time again, however after months of silence, Anna finally spoke out on social media in defense of her husband in February by simply writing,  “There is more to the story” and encouraging her followers to read the new trial/acquittal motion.

Watch this space as we follow this story through the April sentencing of the dirty Duggar.
