Jill Duggar’s husband Derick Dillard seemingly implied on Twitter this weekend that her father Jim Bob Duggar supposedly uses scare tactics on her siblings in order to keep them compliant. Here’s what you need to know.
Following the news that Jill’s brother Josh Duggar has been arrested for explicit child content, many of Derick’s Twitter followers couldn’t help but wonder why other members of the Duggar family are not distancing themselves from Josh and their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle.
Counting On: Jill Duggar’s Husband Derick Dillard Goes Off On The Duggar Family
Hu suggested in his tweets that the Duggar siblings have to work through what incentives they receive versus the threats that Jim Bob gives, which basically means they live in fear.
Speaking about his own experience with Jill, Derick wrote, “We pushed back for a long time & pretended like there was nothing wrong on the outside before we finally got to the place where we quit. Everyone has their own context, including timeline, incentives, fears/threats, information, etc. that they must operate within.”
When one fan said, “Have you or Jill tried to talk to the others about what you learned yet? Sorry if it’s too personal. I’m just curious. I went thru something similar (no reality show involved obviously, ha) and my siblings wouldn’t listen or believe me. Still waiting for them to wake up,” Derick responded with, “How do you know they’re not trying to leave? They didn’t know what we knew when we knew it. As I’ve said before, we were told to not talk to the others about what we learned. And based on our history, I don’t know what scare tactics are used on the others to keep them compliant.”
Josh was arrested in Arkansas by the feds and only a few days after his wife Anna Duggar announced her seventh pregnancy. So far Anna Duggar herself has not made any comments about her husband’s arrest.
