Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that fans will be given more information regarding Geoff Metcalfe’s past relationships in future episodes of the soap. Viewers were left stunned on Wednesday evening as it was revealed that Geoff had survived after being stabbed by Yasmeen Nazir. Fans of the soap have been enraged by the storyline that has created widespread headlines, as Yasmeen has been controlled by her abusive husband.
The final straw came in Friday night’s episode as Yasmeen was left fearing for her life as Geoff approached her with a knife. He claimed that he was going to kill her and that led to Yasmeen striking the fatal blow of her own by hitting him over the head with a bottle before slashing his throat with the broken glass.

Coronations Street fans actually know very little about Geoff, except for the fact that he was arrested for affray in the past. However, Iain MacLeod has now revealed that the soap will look deep into the abusive husband’s past over the course of future episodes. It has already been teased that there could be more examples of abuse from his previous relationships.
Alya Nazir and Imran are going to front the investigation as they look to learn more about what could have potentially driven Yasmeen to take such a devastating move. Alya has already told some characters that her grandmother has been abused for months, and Eileen Grimshaw has also admitted that something more sinister could have been going on behind closed doors. She admitted in Wednesday night’s episode that it looked as though Geoff had locked Yasmeen in the house.

MacLeod admitted that the soap would be delving deep into Geoff’s history over the coming months, and also teased that Tim Metcalfe could be an integral character in how the story may end. He revealed that looking into Geoff’s past may open Tim’s eyes about his past and reveal things that even he didn’t know had happened.
Viewers will be hoping to learn more about Tim’s mother, as the only information that we have been given about her was Geoff claiming that she used to abuse him. However, fans were quick to point out that this probably wasn’t true, and that the truth could have been Geoff abusing her. Viewers will have to stay gripped to Corrie to see what we learn about Geoff’s past.
