It has been revealed that Coronation Street are set to explore a dark new storyline. Gemma Winter will be at the centre of the story, and it will come off the heels of the heartbreaking news that one of her babies is deaf. Viewers found out the news in Friday’s hour-long special, and Gemma immediately looked distressed.
She began thinking about how the baby has never heard her voice or heard the words ‘I love you’. Chesney immediately grasped that Gemma was over-thinking the situation, and insisted that she calmed down. They will continuously make fun of her behind her back, as they comment about how much Gemma looks like she is struggling with parenthood.
The scenes are due to air next week, and it will kick start a new chapter in Gemma and the quads story. Chesney will have issues of his own as he will attempt to get closer to Joseph after he admitted that he has felt neglected since the birth of the twins. Fans will be able to see how the story develops next week.
