According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, investigators have learned that Santangelo had undergone a cosmetic procedure involving injections at her home. However, authorities have emphasized that there is currently no evidence to suggest a direct link between this procedure and her death. At this time, there is also no indication of foul play.
Santangelo garnered the moniker “Latin Marilyn Monroe” from Perry Farrell, the frontman of Jane’s Addiction. She also contributed vocals to the band’s 1990 album, “Ritual de lo Habitual.” Farrell recounted meeting Santangelo during a period in rehab and asking her to record a spoken-word piece for the album.
Farrell described the recording process to Billboard, explaining that Santangelo initially hesitated and needed her mother’s approval for the content. The spoken-word segment, delivered in Spanish, includes the line, “…We have more influence over your children than you do… But we want them.” Listeners have noted a pause in Santangelo’s delivery, which Farrell attributed to nervousness and her glancing down at her script.
Beyond her vocal work, Santangelo built a career as an actress, with notable credits including a recurring role on “Married With Children” as Sierra Madre, a dancer at The Jiggly Room. She also appeared in episodes of popular television series such as “ER” and “CSI: Miami.”
Santangelo’s film credits include an appearance in “Hollywood Homicide,” alongside Harrison Ford. She also made a memorable appearance in the music video for Young MC’s hit song “Bust a Move,” where she showcased her dance skills.
Santangelo’s final post on Instagram was shared on March 8, featuring a selfie. In the comments, fans expressed their admiration, with one writing, “Hello beautiful!” and another adding, “Gorgeous!”
Recent Instagram posts also indicate that Santangelo had celebrated a birthday. One friend referred to her as her “beautiful Seaster” and expressed gratitude for their friendship, highlighting Santangelo’s kindness, love, and laughter.
