Speculation had been mounting that the pair were dating after having been spotted with each other on numerous occasions. This included attending a baseball game together, as well as having been seen on two occasions eating out at a restaurant and then grabbing some lunch.
With that being said, an official announcement was always in the offing. And now a source has confirmed as much: “Chris has been in a really good mood. He’s dating and spending his downtime with Lake Bell.”
This is welcome news for Chris in light of what has been a very challenging year. He has had to bounce back from the Oscars slapgate incident involving Will Smith, who had embarrassed him by slapping the comedian in front of a global audience.
But the irony is that Will’s marriage to Jada Smith has been fuelled by suggestions that there is trouble in paradise, while Chris continues to go from strength to strength in his relationship. The source added: “[They] both just laugh a lot when they’re together. They have similar personalities.”
It is not exactly clear how long the pair have been together, or what their future plans are, but based on everything that we have seen so far, it does look very positive. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
A significant proportion of fans were delighted to see that Chris was in a buoyant mood, and they hoped the relationship would manage to last. One person wrote: “She’s beautiful Rock, good for the both of you. You can never predict who you will fall in love with.”
