Chris Rock has portrayed Jada Pinkett Smith as the true antagonist in the Will Smith Oscar’s incident.
Chris Rock Is Targeting Jada To Get Back At Will Smith-Says Eric Schiffer
That is according to brand expert Eric Schiffer. During the 94th Academy Awards live telecast, Smith physically assaulted Rock for making a joke about Jada’s bald head, which was a reference to the movie “G.I. Jane”. After all, Jada had opened up about her struggles with alopecia.
And as part of that process, Rock went on a tour with his well-known colleagues and refined his performance by addressing the controversy surrounding Will Smith’s Oscars incident in his latest comedy special, “Selective Outrage.”
In his efforts to move on from the Academy Awards controversy, Rock has unintentionally brought more attention to Will Smith’s wife. While that may have been the case, it appears that this will have backfired on Smith even more.
Eric Schiffer, who happens to be a brand expert, had this to say: “Rock’s special is a devastating body blow to Will Smith’s brand at a time people’s memories started to fade, but it won’t have any material effect on Jada’s brand.”
According to Schiffer, Rock’s comments were clearly planned to upset Will by attacking Jada, who had already admitted to being in a relationship with Alsina after denying it before. This may explain why Rock has not managed to bury the hatchet with Smith by instead choosing to get his own back.
And that is not going to change anytime soon, as Rock appears to have found a way of getting Smith back. The following comments confirmed as much: “[He is] targeting Jada intended to enflame Will, who is now forced to suck it up without firing back.”
The response on social media was very clear. Large numbers of people were of the view that Rock would not be taking any prisoners moving forward. One person wrote: “I bet Will Smith will never get a second chance at putting his hands on Chris Rock… The brother’ strapped now.”
