Well this is telling, isn’t it? It seems like a lot of people are willing to watch Chris Cuomo’s Primetime CNN show, but only without him in it. In fact, there’s a new report that says CNN has seen the ratings for Cuomo’s show skyrocket after his departure. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, a whopping 900,000 people tuned in to see Anderson Cooper fill in for Chris Cuomo last week. That figure was up nearly 19 percent from Monday when Cuomo attracted just 754,000 viewers. Wow.
Chris Cuomo’s Show Skyrockets In The Ratings After His Departure – Good Riddance?
As many fans know by now, Chris has been given the ax because of his efforts to help his brother Andrew fight off a sexual harassment scandal when he was still governor of New York.
“Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense,” CNN said in a statement on Saturday.
“We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately. While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate.”
Even with the firing, CNN said it will continue to investigate their former anchor’s conduct “as appropriate.” The cable news network tweeted about his termination Saturday saying his firing is “effective immediately.” Now, as far as what’s next for Chris Cuomo – or his brother Andrew for that matter – remains to be seen.
So far Chris Cuomo himself has not made any additional comments about the matter.
