Charlie Puth has criticised his former mentor Ellen DeGeneres’ record label for simply ignoring him.
Charlie Puth Criticises Ellen DeGeneres’ Record Label For Ghosting Him-‘They Just Disappeared’
Charlie is now one of the biggest musicians in the world, with enough of a fanbase that he does not need Ellen at all now. But in the earlier stages of his career, Ellen’s record label appeared to have ghosted him completely. Puth recalled how the label became unresponsive during his first album with them.
And in the process of speaking out, Charlie did not hold back. In his comments, he said: “We both have different experiences, me versus Greyson. But I do agree with him that no one was present, certainly, after the creation of my first demo EP.
“All the people that were in that room, they just disappeared. I didn’t hear from anybody.” Charli’s comments arrived on the back end of another musician, Greyson, who was also condemnatory of Ellen.
He just so happened to sign to Ellen’s label after having gone viral on Youtube following his performance of ‘Paparazzi’ by Lady Gaga. During the course of that process, however, Grayson felt that Ellen was very manipulative.
He recalled an incident about how Ellen wanted to model his career around Justin Bieber. She had allegedly informed him to watch Bieber’s documentary, which would have given him an insight into the star’s life. But when Greyson did not do so, things fell apart.
And by the looks of it, there was a lack of communication with Greyson too. In his prior comments at the time, Grayson said: “I couldn’t get ahold of her. Couldn’t talk to her. Whenever I would come on the show, it was such a fake smile.”
Ellen may not have been an integral part in either Charli or Greyson’s success, but the two men have managed to make waves in their own right. And as a result, they have picked up some valuable life experience that will stand them in good stead.
