Channing Tatum has spoken on how he had to take on more responsibility in looking after his daughter following his break up with Jenna Dewan.
Channing Tatum Has Grown As A Father
The duo had decided to part ways in 2018, and the divorce became official two years later. The split was amicable as the two managed to co-parent without any major stumbling blocks. Although the actor is known for his big personality and on-screen macho persona, it was not the easiest thing for Channing to do when it came to connecting with his daughter, Evie.
In an interview with Parents magazine, he said: “I want dads not to be afraid to go into their daughter’s world and discover who they are. When I became a single father, I had a lot of fear about connecting to Everly in every way that a little girl might want.” But Channing’s approach to parenting has become more nuanced since then.
This has been because he is spending more one on one time with Evie. He is adding more strings to his bow along the way, which his fans may not have expected. He revealed: “I didn’t wear nail polish or know how to braid hair. But now I do both. I jumped with both feet into this magical world, and I was rewarded with a kind of love that I don’t think I would have ever been able to have otherwise.”
So has Evie learnt anything from her father? Well, it seems they may actually be two peas in a pod. While there are no official plans to make her follow into the acting business, there is the feeling that her future may lie there, especially in light of Channing’s following comments. He continued: “Just like Sparkella, Evie loves to play tricks, wear crazy outfits, and be different from everyone.
“She’s bold, beautiful, and magical in every way.” It is nice to see Channing opening up to his fans as well as his daughter. And who knows, we may end up seeing Evie in a movie theatre at some point in the future. After all, she seems to have stolen her father’s moves from 21 Jump Street.
