CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) has had a difficult time. Though once being known as the ‘damsel in distress’ in Genoa City, it looks like her connections have really pulled through at this difficult time. After being diagnosed with cancer, Sharon seems to be getting more bad news. However, every time we turn around, she has more support rallying around her.
Sharon was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy, Sharon found out that the treatment wasn’t going as planned. Y&R fans had gotten used to Sharon being a relatively weak character. She often was broken-hearted and going through relationship struggles. During this time, however, her strength has taken over, and she has set a real example!

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Tough Times for Sharon Newman – Future Is Uncertain
Last month, Nikki Newman (Melodie Thomas Scott) was great support for Sharon, despite their obvious differences. It was lovely to see the two women come together and to see Nikki’s maternal side shine through. After Sharon’s doctor recommended a lumpectomy, Sharon rallied with her boyfriend, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), and her family Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), as well as Mariah’s girlfriend, and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks).
The group has shown unwavering support for Sharon. Sharon has managed to stay strong for her daughters while showing moments of vulnerability. It’s been a powerful dichotomy that beautifully showcases the real struggles of those going through treatment. Rey and Sharon have even opened up to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about their concerns and fears. Nick has remained supportive of both of them.
Overall, Y&R producers have done an excellent job portraying this sensitive subject. Sharon, her family, and Rey have all displayed courage, bravery, and vulnerability during this experience.
