CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) still recovering from a vicious attack by Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes), Y&R fans have been speculating who would be chosen to step in at Newman Enterprises. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has refused to run his father, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden), company. With Nick out of the running, fans were assuming that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) or Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), with favour assumedly given to Victor’s son, Adam. However, nothing is as it seems in Genoa City, as fans got word that Nick would decide to take the position.
After a passionate make out session, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick began discussing Newman Enterprises. Phyllis, who is never afraid to be honest with her feelings, asked Nick whether he would be okay if Adam took over the company.

Phyllis outlined the risks that the family would be taking and how many people could be hurt by the situation – including Nick’s beloved sister, Victoria. Phyllis explains that she understands that Nick is stubborn, and despite Phyllis’ dislike of Victor, she thinks that Adam would trash the company that Victor took years to build. Phyllis’ sentiment seems to hit a chord with Nick as he interrupts Victor and Adam’s visit with a phone call. Nick has decided to take the CEO position at Newman Enterprises.

The sudden information infuriates Adam. Adam believes that Nick is taking the position to spite him and Adam accuses his father of playing him. Adam threatens Victor by saying this is a conflict that they might not come back from before he storms away. In another scene, Adam is venting to Chelsea Lawson (Marie Claire Egan) about the whole ordeal. He begins telling Chelsea that he wants to go to Kansas – which seems odd, but it’s Adam. He has learned from the best (AKA his own father) and he wants revenge. Chelsea informs Adam that she is supportive of his need to get revenge – and she will even help him with it.
