Nate Hastings has caught the attention of Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). They share ambition and the drive to make Newman Enterprises spectacularly successful and this has drawn them close to one another.
It has given them a sense of mutual admiration. This has led to attraction as well. They have shared some passionate kisses and Victoria wants more from Nate.
She says that they can keep their physical relationship under wraps, and it can be separate from their work relationship. She gets a hotel room for the night at the Grand Phoenix and she invites him up to her room.

Nate made the somewhat surprising decision not to spend the night in Victoria’s room. He says that he has a strong desire for her, but he has two commitments. He is committed to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and to Newman Enterprises.
Going further into a relationship with Victoria would put both of those things in jeopardy. He has to put his passionate desires aside and focus on those commitments. He declines to spend the night with Victoria.
Victoria is used to always getting what she wants. She is stunned by his rejection. She actually has played through this night in her mind and is left alone and brooding. Now she needs to regroup.
Will she continue to pursue Nate since she knows the attraction is mutual? Or will she take drastic action against him since he chose to reject her? Will she use his position as leverage to get what she wants?
