CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are now engaged. This news, however, has made its way to her father, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and he’s none too happy about it.
While telling her mother, Summer let out that she was getting engaged and her father overheard. His reaction was simply, “What?!”, much like any father would say. Though, to make things worse, Summer’s excuse for Kyle not being divorced from Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) was incredibly dumb.

CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: If It’s Just A Piece Of Paper, Why Does It Matter Summer?
When Nick said that Kyle wasn’t even divorced yet, Summer said, “It’s just a piece of paper!”. Wow, wait. Marriage is just a piece of paper? So why are you in such a rush to get engaged to be married? For that special piece of paper, I’d assume. Summer, sit down, and think for a few minutes.
This whole thing is ridiculous and Nick has some very valid points, both about Kyle and Lola and about Summer rushing into things. If it’s just a piece of paper, maybe you should rethink why you’re doing this.
