CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that nothing like a surprise visit to make the holidays complete, and the show is excited and ready to get things rolling with our throwback spoiler. This episode originally aired on December 21, 2016, and has left a lasting impression on many.

Gloria Abbott (Judith Chapman) knows how to make an entrance, and she does so at the expense of Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) and Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc)’s sanity. Not even Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) were immune from her appearance. Nothing like a protective mother to make thing interesting for any family, so let’s get into the fun and games.

After being delivered in a large box on Michael’s doorstep, Gloria quickly made her presence felt as both Michael and Lauren weren’t happy to see her. Despite their feelings, she explained she had to see Michael and Kevin as her sons were everything to her.

Once they were alone, Lauren asked Michael what he did to get on Santa’s naughty list, but he was intent on making the best of things and was sure they’d have a good Christmas. Of course, the real fun wouldn’t start until Kevin and Chloe showed up, and when they did, oh boy. Is it wrong CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers have been waiting for this moment? Asking for a friend. Anyway, what could go wrong?

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For July 17: Sparks fly

Once everyone arrived, Gloria wasted no time in targeting Chloe. In her mind, Chloe was only looking for a way to destroy Kevin again. It didn’t matter that Chloe had sent divorce papers while she was institutionalized; nothing would ever prove to Gloria that Chloe wasn’t out to destroy her son. It’s a hard sell to convince a protective mother to believe in someone she doesn’t trust, but can we really blame Gloria?

Sure, she’s not the most endearing person at times and has burned more bridges than she’s built, but her family is all she really has ever had. The Abbotts were quick to discard her when John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) died, so it makes sense she’d want to hold onto what she has with such tenacity.

While this is understandable, there is the saying about trying to hold onto something so tightly that we squeeze the life out of it. Will Gloria squeeze too tightly or will she allow Kevin to live his life as he sees fit? Also, is she right to be so protective of him? Let us know your thoughts below, and check back with CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
