CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show it’s been a big week for soap superstar Eric Braeden (Victor Newman). Not only has the gentlemen celebrated 40 years on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He also celebrated 50 years of Newman Enterprises with friends, family, and rivals on the show. He’s been a centerpiece of the series since it started. It’s hard to imagine what it would be like without him.

In today’s episode, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and even Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) spoke about their father. We were treated to flashbacks throughout the years of ‘The Young and the Restless’. If you thought that hit you emotionally, wait until you watch this video of Braeden looking back through his life and getting emotional himself in person.

In the video, he is asked several questions about his personal life, joining the show and what he would tell his younger self. All of which is extremely interesting and hearing Braeden talk about it is special. You can tell he has seen and experienced a lot in his life. He lived as a teenager through World War II and spoke of his town being ruined in the conflict. He then came to America with nothing but fifty dollars in his pocket and started a new life. It reminds me of nights sitting cross-legged on the floor listening to my grandfather.

What caused Braeden to get the most emotional was looking through old photographs from the show. Seeing he and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) in their younger days, dear friends who had past and his on-screen children. He couldn’t talk enough about how amazing everyone is and how truly talented they all are. He lightens the mood when he sees the Newman office. Braeden talks about how it has pissed him off for 40 years because the giant door to his office doesn’t close tightly. It would shake a bit.

It is a truly amazing 11 minutes with the actor and you get to see the real person behind the character. Bless Eric Braeden and his amazing journey!
