In her dream, Diane imagines that Summer will express her love for Diane and well commend her as a much better mother than her own mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
While Summer has agreed to give Diane a chance, she isn’t overly enthusiastic about her presence in the Abbot family. Summer is having some issues with her own mother, but she is not likely to call Diane a better mother than her own.
While Phyllis interferes in her daughter’s life and Summer had to fire her from Marchetti, she has not neglected Summer by leaving and faking her own death as Diane did to her husband Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). It’s a far stretch to think that Summer will be excited about Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) marrying Diane.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Issues with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson)
The one person in the Abbott family who is vehemently against Jack and Diane’s resumed romance is Ashley. She hates the very idea and has had some explosive arguments with her brother about Diane being back at the Abbott mansion. When she finds out that Jack has proposed and Diane has accepted, she will be out to be sure this marriage never occurs.
In Diane’s dream, Ashley effuses love and admiration for her, and this would never happen. In reality, Diane has a lot of respect to earn and trust to gain. She is not a favorite and she has a lot of work to do. Jack will make it seem like everything is great and everyone will love her, but that’s not the truth. If they even make it to the altar, she will have to do a lot of work to get the support of Jack’s family.
