CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers say that everyone seems to be asking the same question lately: can Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) come to terms with his murderous past? Luckily, actor Mark Grossman gives us a little insight to what might be going on inside his character’s head. Here’s what he has to say.

In a new interview with TV Insider, Mark opened up about his character, his past, the things he’s done, the people he’s murdered, and how he’s trying to turn all of his wrongs into rights. It’s not easy, of course. When asked how Adam is dealing with the fact that he murdered AJ Montalvo when he was just a pre-teen, Mark told the site, “I don’t think Adam’s a bad person.

He’s got a good heart, but he’s always done these bad things. Now, he’s realizing he killed this man and he’s buried it deep down. Maybe there’s a reason that he also did all these bad things throughout his life? [But] if he did kill this man when he was 11, he was defending his mother.”

Mark also said that before he joined the hit CBS soap, he did all of his research and watched as many Adam Newman clips on YouTube that he could find. He said, “I got my hands on everything I could. There has been so much stuff.

I got on the internet and did as much research as I could. Going on YouTube and watching the previous versions of Adam and the dynamics, trying to understand the relationships — especially the big ones with Victor, Sharon, Chelsea, and Nick… I enjoy watching the old stuff to this day because there’s so much.”
