CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show the Newman 50th Anniversary Gala was a hit. Good and bad! There was a lot that took place on this day and it will definitely go down in the history books. From celebrating the legacy of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to a proposal from Victor Newman (Mark Grossman) to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), again. The night ultimately ended with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) being stabbed by Ripley Turner (Christian Keyes)! A lot of bittersweet moments.
This anniversary gala has been planned for a long time. We heard for weeks about how grand it’s going to be and how long Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) had been working on it. We knew it was going to be huge, but what we didn’t expect was everything that would happen at it!

Little things started the night off, like Nikki seeing Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in the bathroom and thinking she was pregnant because of her nausea. It then jumped to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) sharing a kiss! We thought things were heating up then! Finally, before the finale, Adam proposed to Chelsea, again. Again, she said yes. Even though he didn’t have a ring! Plus, Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) was able to attend and made his grandfather an extraordinary photography show. Talk about a pretty great night.
That was, until Ripley showed up, walked right into the Gala undetected. With a weapon, and stabbed Victoria mistakenly. This of course took the spotlight. Victor’s 50 years, Adam and Chelsea, Noah returning, Phyllis and Nick kissing, all of it was nearly erased by this. Now, when they look back on this day, it will always be remembered in infamy. All because of Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Yeah, you can kind of blame them. Sure, Ripley is at fault, he’s the lunatic. Though if Billy and Amanda hadn’t had happened. This could have been avoided. Right? What do you think? Are Billy and Amanda partly to blame?
