CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that with the outbreak of COVID-19, North America has nearly gone into shut down. With an estimated 40-70% of North American’s contracting the virus, it’s no doubt that our favourite soap opera stars aren’t immune to the pandemic. Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) took to Instagram to share his current illness (though undiagnosed). Luckily, ‘Young and the Restless’ producers have halted production, so hopefully other stars haven’t contracted Rikaart’s illness.
Rikaart posted a photo of him in isolation on his Instagram. He has been symptomatic since Friday, and is currently quarantined away from his husband and son. Rikaart shared that he has a fever of 100.5 degrees, tightness in his chest, and a wet cough. At first, his doctor diagnosed him with seasonal allergies. However, once his fever began to spike, his doctor provided a Z-Pak of antibiotics.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Greg Rikaart In Isolation
However, Rikaart’s symptoms didn’t improve. He has been trying to get in to see another doctor to be tested for coronavirus, however he is getting denied. According to the CDC, you’re only at risk for coronavirus is you’ve travelled internationally, have a fever of 102 degrees and have a cough. Despite doctor’s suggestions that the virus is now being spread within the country. Rikaart came to Instagram to express his frustration, “Such a colossal failure by our federal government that this is where we are.”
When Rikaart was finally able to get a doctor to do a house visit, he had hoped he would be diagnosed with the flu so he could get back to life with his husband and son. However, the doctor was unable to confirm whether Rikaart was suffering with the flu or with coronavirus. At this point, it’s imperative that everyone stays safe! We are thrilled to see Greg Rikaart acting so responsibly by isolating himself away from his son and husband. Stay safe out there everyone!
