Carrie Underwood recently teased there was something big coming and it’s a residency called Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency. We thought something along those lines was coming. The clip she shared looked very much like one shared by Celine Dion.
They had a similar look and the same techno beat, and Dion is well-known for her successful runs in Vegas by now. Let’s take a look at some details, what else she’s been up to, and who else fans will see in Vegas.
Carrie Underwood talks Vegas
In an interview with MSN Entertainment, Underwood talked about all the virtual performances she’s done since the shutdown effected all industries and people’s lives as well. Her enthusiasm to get back onstage is palpable, even through the written word. Her choice of words also told us something.
Namely, it looks like there’s not a lot cemented about the show yet. She mentioned being able to see it all in her head, and that they’re in the phase of “Anything is possible.” However, this wouldn’t be a Carrie Underwood show without some of the biggest hits, and we love her shouting out ‘Last Name’ in the interview.
For those who don’t know, Last Name is “prequal” to ‘Before He Cheats’ that came out on her second album, Carnival Ride. The video referenced her huge hit, “Before He Cheats” as she donned the outfit from the iconic video, while also carrying that famous baseball bat. As part of the lyrics say, “Today I woke up thinking about Elvis somewhere in Vegas,” this is a no-brainer to add to the set. In fact, we’d say it’d probably be a sin not to.
Carrie Underwood keeps busy
While most of the world has been taking a rest, Carrie Underwood has been keeping herself busy. Last year, she released her first Christmas album, “My Gift”. We loved her version of “O Holy Night”, as well as the gospel/soul-influenced original, “Let There be Peace”. Fans had been begging for such a collection, and she also gave them a bonus.
Fans love her version of the gospel song, “How Great Thou Art.” In 2021, she granted fans’ wish to have a studio version of the song when she released the collection “My Savior.” The album is filled with hymns the singer loves and gives fans a full version of “Amazing Grace”, a song she included a brief clip of in “Something in the Water.” So, who’s coming to Vegas with her?

The promo clip revealed it looks like people who are mostly new to the residency thing. Katy Perry will have a show as part of this series, as well Carrie’s fellow country singer Luke Bryan.
