According to royal expert Tom Bower, Meghan Markle was given a derogatory nickname after she and Prince Harry announced their withdrawal from the Royal Family.
Camilla Had A Savage Nickname For Meghan-‘That Minx,’ Says Tom Bower
Bower alleges that Queen Consort Camilla began to call Meghan “that minx” as the pair went to the US to live a more different lifestyle. The term “minx” is used to describe a woman who is mischievous and flirtatious.
Harry and Meghan retired from their senior royal positions in 2020, and began working on their own personal projects, one example being their Netflix show ‘Harry & Meghan’, as well as Harry’s autobiography titled Spare, in order to become financially stable. And as part of that process, the couple moved to Montecito, California, raising two children in the process: Archie and Lilibet.
Bower asserted that Camilla typically stayed quite reserved when talking about Meghan, however she eventually began to use the nickname when she became increasingly irritated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s open condemnations of the monarchy.
Reports suggest that Camilla was dubious of Meghan when she and Harry began their relationship and was not convinced of her loyalty to the obligations of being a royal. In his comments, Bower said: “From the outset, Camilla was suspicious about the adventuress from Los Angeles.
“She found it hard to believe that Meghan would sacrifice her career and independence to serve silently as a team player devoted to the monarchy.” Additionally, sources from the Royal Family have revealed that King Charles III also devised a nickname for Meghan.
It is claimed that he began to call her “Tungsten” because she was as strong and inflexible as the incredibly strong metal. Bower’s following comments confirmed as much: “Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softie.
“It’s become a term of endearment.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
