Cole Beasley, who is best known for playing for the Buffalo Bills, has spoken out after testing positive for Covid-19.

Buffalo Bills Player Cole Beasley Hits Out At Covid Rules After Testing Positive-‘COVID Is Not Keeping Me Out Of This Game, The Rules Are’

According to reports, Cole will miss the next game versus the New England Patriots and is expected to be absent for a period of 10 days in line with the rules. Nevertheless, the player has not been left happy with it all.

The player has yet to be vaccinated, which is something that he is apparently against. In an official statement following the news, he said: “Just to be clear COVID is not keeping me out of this game. The rules are.”

Cole’s comments do highlight a problem with the world of sports. The rules surrounding Covid testing differ across all sports. This has created an inherent contradiction in which some sports are calling off games, while others are continuing to go ahead.

Thus, there is an absence of a criteria of when games should be stopped. This point is even more striking, given Cole’s following comments. He called into question the criteria being used to determine who should be allowed to play.

He added: “Vaxxed players are playing with Covid every week now because they don’t test. One of my vaxxed teammates is in the hospital missing games. I’m sure he didn’t get this same energy.”

Social media was equally divisive over what was being stated. Some people believed that Cole’s comments could have created further division at a time where the globe is being decimated by the pandemic.

Meanwhile, others praised him for standing up for his beliefs. And it was the support from the latter group that Cole cherished.

His following comments confirmed as much: “Thank you for those who support. Everyone else, if you don’t get what’s happening then there is nothing anybody can do for you.”

Time will tell whether Cole does end up facing some disciplinary action over his comments about the covid regulations being enforced. But in the meantime, one thing for sure is that he will not be changing his opinion on this issue anytime soon.
