During her 20s, Brooke Shields experienced being raped by a powerful Hollywood executive, and she expressed gratitude for having survived the traumatic experience by calling it a “miracle.”

In 1987, shortly after completing her studies at Princeton University, Shields experienced a traumatic incident of sexual assault.

She remembers feeling extremely disappointed with her professional life at the time when she agreed to have dinner with an executive whom she hoped would help her secure a role in a movie.

However, after the meal, the executive took her to his hotel room, and she eventually had to call a cab from there.

According to Shields, an executive started to physically struggle with her, which made her anxious about the possibility of being strangled by him.

In her comments, she said: “It’s taken me a long time to process it. I’m more angry now than I was able to be then. If you’re afraid, you’re rightfully so.

“They are scary situations. They don’t have to be violent to be scary. I didn’t fight that much. I didn’t. I just absolutely froze.”

Shields mentioned that she has faced sexualization in the entertainment industry for numerous years, starting from the time when she acted without any clothes in the movie “Pretty Baby” in 1978, at the age of eleven.

Not only that, but she stated that, at first, she held herself responsible for accompanying the man to the hotel. And yet, it is important to bear in mind the following point.

The fact that Brook took so long to come out and reveal the incident suggests that it had such a traumatic impact on her.

In addition to this, the fact that Brook has not disclosed the name of the person that was allegedly involved suggests that she may still have fear over what happened, even if it could be a case of having no proof.

After all, if she were to disclose something, then there could be legal action as a result. The response on social media was one of sympathy.

Large numbers of people came out to offer words of support to Brook, who had clearly been through a lot. One person wrote: “I’ve always liked her. Too much, too soon, but she survived.

“I wish she would name the perp, tho.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
