Britney Spears’s mother, Lynne Spears, is grappling to repay her debts after being cut off from Britney’s income.

Louisiana native Lynne has taken a job as a substitute teacher to help her make ends meet despite her infamous daughter being worth about $60 million.

Lynne Spears Takes a Teaching Job

Lynne is no stranger to the classroom and teaching students. Before Britney became a massive pop star, Lynne worked as a teacher and managed a daycare center. Lynne now works part-time for a local school.

On her Instagram account, it says she works as a Rodan and Fields independent consultant, which is a very cushy gig.

She also appears to have a blog called “The Mustard Seeds,” She posts about her experiences at local restaurants and shops. However, her blog does not have a significant following.

When Britney was younger, her mother ran her preschool and daycare center. She has an extensive background in taking care of little ones.

Lynne and Britney are estranged, as Britney claims her mother did nothing to help her out of the conservatorship that her father controlled.

Lynne filed a petition requesting that Britney’s estate cover her legal bills. Lynne wanted Britney to pay the $660,000 lawyer bill she amassed during the thirteen-year-long conservatorship.

Lynne claimed that she was instrumental in working to end the conservatorship once she discovered problems with the arrangement.

However, Britney’s legal team fought the petition, claiming,

“There’s no legal authority supporting Lynne’s claims that she should be able to collect funds from her daughter’s estate.”

Lynne withdrew the claim, hoping to reconcile with her daughter and put the bad blood behind them. She realized asking Britney to pay half a million dollar legal fee was outlandish.

    Britney Needs Her Family

Even though it seemed like mother and daughter were making strides toward reconciling after Lynne paid Britney a visit in May, any hopes of this were dashed when Britney’s divorce from Sam Asghari came to light. Sam filed for divorce from Britney in August, and it gutted Britney.

    Britney and her mother Lynne

The negativity between Britney and her mother seems to have affected Lynne’s finances. She is having to seek other sources to supplement their income.

Lynne lives in her $2 million mansion, purchased by Britney in 2001. Britney reportedly paid for telephone services, property taxes,  insurance, pest control, pool work, repairs and maintenance, and utilities.

Lynne Spears filed for Chapter 7  insolvency in 1998. She has maintained and worked for several companies related to Britney’s fame, such as “Britney Online, inc., and One More Time Music, Inc.”. She sold the home Britney lived in during her childhood.

Britney has been acting crazy and recently posted an Instagram video of herself dancing with knives. It seems like she is acting out for attention, and cutting ties with her family may be a well-played media stunt.

Lynne wanted Britney to come live with her in Louisiana since the only thing keeping Britney there was Sam.

The fact that Britney is shutting everyone in her life out is a red flag and a cry for help. If she dropped her “I don’t need anybody act,” she might elicit genuine empathy from people instead of pity and make amends with her mother.
