Michelle Williams, a well-respected performer, has been chosen by Britney Spears to recount her much-anticipated memoir, “The Woman in Me.”
Britney’s team of experts and Gallery Books have chosen Michelle Williams because,
“She brings a tremendous amount of class and elegance and even a broader audience.”
Michelle was chosen because of her stellar reputation, integrity, and similarities with Spears due to her unconventional family background.
Williams was legally emancipated from her parents when she was 15 years old. She wanted to pursue an acting career. Michelle Williams gained popularity for her role as Jen Lindley in the teen angst drama, “Dawson’s Creek.”
Michelle has earned critical acclaim for her roles in the films, “Brokeback Mountain” and “My Week With Marylin.” She is known for being a very gifted actress, and the roles she chooses are often gutsy and bold.
Britney Spears Felt It Was “Too Painful” to Narrate
is choosing to use a narrator for the book because she does not want to narrate the chapters discussing her dysfunctional family history.
Britney made a statement to People magazine,
“This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it. Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. I will only read a small part of my audiobook for those reasons.”
Spears says,
“I am so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest of it.” Michelle supports Britney’s “brave” choice to come out with this memoir. Williams has one comment to the press, “I stand with Britney.”
The publisher of Britney’s memoir is Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. The publisher initially wanted to hire Reese Witherspoon to narrate the book. However, there was a timing issue involved that didn’t work out.
Michelle’s narration of the book is already complete. It should come as no surprise to anyone that much of the book is devoted to Britney’s conservatorship, which ended in 2021.
The conservatorship took a toll on the pop princess, as it was said to be abusive and controlling. In the upcoming memoir, Britney recounts being hospitalized against her will. They forced her to take medication, and her father instituted overbearing rules concerning her friends, birth control, and money.
Britney Spear Has a $15 Million Book Deal
Britney read the book‘s prologue, and Michelle took the wheel for the parts that were too painful to discuss. Spears reportedly wanted a strong female to read the rest.
Britney signed a whopping $15 million book deal to tell her story. According to the publisher’s website,
“The Woman in Me” is a “brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.”
Unfortunately, the juicy details of Britney‘s marriage and divorce from ex-husband Sam Asghari will need to wait until the following memoir. Britney has promised to deliver a second memoir after this one.
Her first memoir will highlight her childhood, complicated family dynamic, rise to fame, fall from grace in 2007 and 2008, past relationships, and other fascinating stories about her life.
“The Woman in Me” will be made available for purchase on October 24th. Let’s see if the book lives up to all the hype.
If anything, it will surely be an interesting read.
