When Britney dropped the bathroom video of her singing the lyrics, “I’m gonna show you what I mean” today the entire Britney Army dropped their teeth. If you thought that her brief break from music had lessened her abilities – you’d be wrong – it’s only strengthened them in fact.

This song, and she did indicate that she was working on a new song in the post, has a deep, soulful, blues-y sound and it is fabulous. Definitely, a takeaway from her normal light, pop-y numbers but this one is going to be more impactful.

Britney Spears is now her own cheerleader (and we’re here for it!)

Also, this one is going to mean more because this song is one that Britney will release on her own, and she will be getting the proceeds, not her family, not some shadow-y business conglomerate, this time it’s just going to be Britney. We, as fans, couldn’t be happier.

This is what she wrote in the caption to end all. “I just realized this today guys… after what my family tried to do to me three years ago… I needed to be my own cheerleader!!! God knows they weren’t… so I just read up on myself and this is what I found:

Multi-Platinum, Grammy-Award winning pop icon Britney Spears is one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide. In the U.S. alone she has sold more than 70 million albums, singles, and songs according to Neilsen Music.

Spears has sold 33.6 million albums in the U.S. and ranks as the 18th-best selling album artist in the Neilsen era. Her songs have drawn over 25 billion in cumulative radio airplay audience and 2.6 billion on-demand U.S. audio and video streams combined and she’s sold 39.8 million singles. (36.9 million via downloads.)

No, I’m not auditioning for anything!!! I’m reminding myself and the world of who I am!!! Yes, I will be my own cheerleader!!! Why??? I’m here to remind my white “classy” family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget!!!  Pssss new song in the works… I’m gonna let you know what I mean!!!

The saddest thing about this post, is that even though she won all of those awards, and sold all those millions of albums… nothing was ever enough for her family, they could never just leave well enough alone. She knocked it out of the park, what else were they expecting? We’re glad that Britney’s embracing her newfound self-esteem.

As if that wasn’t enough, she made a follow-up post telling the world, “Sit down and stay humble ya’ll… and kiss my motherfuckin’ ass.” You know what? She’s more than earned the right to say that. We applaud Britney’s newfound cheerleader status, and can’t wait to see what she releases. Stay tuned!!!
