Britney Spears has continued to attack the media for what she perceives to be an unfair portrayal of her life.
Britney Spears Hits Out At BBC Documentary On Her Life-They ‘Are So HYPOCRITICAL’
The singer, whose recent documentary entitled Framing Britney, received a mixed reception. While significant celebrities such as Justin Timberlake were held to account over their treatment towards Britney, the pop star expressed her strong disapproval towards the project. And now it seems she has set her sights on hitting out at another documentary.
The BBC recently released a show called, ‘The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship.’ After having watched it, Britney was left far from impressed. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Britney said: “So many documentaries about me this year with other people’s takes on my life. What can I say … I’m deeply flattered!!!! These documentaries are so hypocritical … they criticize the media and then do the same thing.”
So what made Britney get really angry? Well, the documentary brought up issues from the past that she would rather forget. Take, for example, her problems with Perez Hilton. The latter had repeatedly bashed Britney in the media after infamously lamenting Heath Ledger’s death and suggested that Britney should have taken his place.
Although he would later apologise, the creators of the documentary thought it was a good idea to bring it all up again. This focus on negativity is exactly why Britney was so angry. In another Instagram post, she added: “I’ve had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life… I think the world is more interested in the negative.
“Why highlight the most negative and traumatizing times in my life from forever ago.” This may explain why Britney has refused to do any more personal documentaries. Given that she is in a conservatorship battle with her father, it is not going to help if your personal life is being displayed out in the open, if you consider it to be untrue.
The consequences of all this have damaged her children too. A previous source said: “It’s [Framing Britney] turned into a nightmare for her because she can’t imagine what her kids are going to think now.”
