Britney Spears has made it clear that she was not trying to be hurtful with her recent Instagram post featuring an image of her and ex Justin Timberlake wearing matching basketball uniforms from the past.

The post about Justin came almost two years after he offered an apology to his ex following the airing of ‘Framing Britney Spears.’ The film’s launch in 2021 provoked the ire of Britney’s fans because of Justin’s remarks about her.
So when Britney posted about Justin, it did come out of the blue. The post, though, was later removed by the singer, but not before fans began wondering her motivation behind it, which is why Britney has now come clean.
In her comments, she said: “The pic with my ex is a time where there was less confusion on what it meant to be together. It is what it is.” The following day after she posted the throwback picture with Justin, she also displayed a short clip of herself having a tattoo done in Maui, though she did not let her fans see it.
Britney justified that on the basis that she was not happy with the final results of the tattoo, by going so far as to state that it ‘sucked.’ Despite rumours that the tattoo was linked to her post about Justin, Britney stated that there was no correlation between the posts.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “Just to clarify…my tattoo had nothing to do with an ex in the past. I simply did it because I wanted to.” The response on social media was very damning towards Britney.
A certain subset of people made it clear that Britney’s mental health was not in a good place, with some damning results. One person wrote: “Britney, your white jacket is waiting. You are DEFINITELY institution bound….CLEARLY.”
