Britney Spears turns 43 today on December 2nd. She’s been declared “legally single” after her divorce from Sam Asghari. The pop princess is now a single woman in the eyes of the law.
Spears And Asghari Were Wed In June 2022
Unfortunately for Mr. Asghari, the couple had a prenup, so he didn’t win anything in the divorce after a little over a year of marriage to Britney.
The “Toxic” hitmaker paid for Asghari’s rent for a period of time after he moved out. Britney’s third husband claimed she cheated on him and beat him up.
He accused her of giving him a nasty black eye. Of course, we know Britney Spears isn’t exactly the picture of mental stability. In September 2023, she displayed a video of herself dancing with knives.
Asghari also said that Spears asked someone in her staff to film her naked and that she had a fling with someone else who works at the house.
After six years of dating, the former couple married at her mansion in June 2022. In August 2023, Asghari filed for divorce, citing the common excuse of “irreconcilable differences.”
Britney Spears posted an awkward message on social media at the time,
“I couldn’t take the pain anymore, honestly!”
She exclaimed with a video of herself dancing in a bikini.
“In some sort of telepathic way, I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends, and I thank you!”
She continued.
“I’ve been playing it strong for way too long, and my Instagram may seem perfect, but it’s far from reality, and I think we all know that!”
Britney wanted to resolve her divorce without a media circus present and avoid the “spectacle of a trial.” Asghari didn’t challenge the prenup, and they settled their split amicably.
Britney Spears Likes To Play With Fire
Two months after Asghari filed for divorce, the “Hit Me Baby One More Time” singer released a tell-all memoir called The Woman In Me. In the book, she mentioned Asghari and called him “a gift from God.”
This comes after Britney worried people when she brought a grill lighter with her while walking onto a private jet for her birthday.
She was seen holding the red lighter over her mouth, which was incredibly odd. She was also wearing a white trench coat and black knee-high boots.
Spears pressed the lighter over her face as she strolled toward the tarmac. Britney doesn’t exactly have a good track record with fire, as she accidentally burnt down her home gym in April 2020 after she absentmindedly left candles burning.
As Britney held the lighter, she kept it over her mouth while talking to her entourage. Lighters that produce a large flame, like the kind the pop star had over her mouth, are typically banned from planes.
Interestingly, Britney also accidentally burned off her eyebrows and eyelashes when she tried to turn on her fireplace earlier this year.
Sources close to Britney claim she’s working with a therapist and taking medication for her bipolar disorder. She’s also allegedly clean and sober and has “sworn off toxic men.”
Before Asghari, Spears was previously wed to Kevin Federline and Jason Allen Alexander. Her second marriage only lasted 55 hours.
