We can all breathe a sigh of relief for Britney Spears because Judge Brenda Penney has ruled in favor of Britney’s request to hire her own legal counsel, high-powered lawyer Mattthew Rosengart.
On the steps of the courthouse he gave a statement to the press saying that the entire object of probate law, the entire reason for this conservatorship, was to keep in mind the best interest of the conservatee, which we can all argue is not being taken into consideration at all at this point, the only thing that’s being considered at this point is how much money can be bilked from Britney out of this conservatorship.

Rosengart also argued to to the judge that Britney’s last statement was completely lucid, and that her Dad needed to be removed from the conservatorship altogether. Of course Jamie Spears’ lawyer argued that that was not going to happen, but now that everyone is jumping ship, it looks like Britney may just have the greatest chance at freedom that she’s had in a long time.
Britney’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham, was the latest to resign among her team. As it turns out, according to some sources, he really wasn’t fighting for Britney at all and he was technically just a puppet hired by the conservatorship. He didn’t work for Britney because he wasn’t being paid – at least not by her, but rather by her conservatorship.
Don’t worry, I’m confused as to how that works too.
Basically all you neeeed to know is that Britney’s Dad, Jamie Spears, is in charge of all the financials as of right now and was probably not paying Samuel Ingham to fight against his iron fist, that’s what I’m thinking. Howevr now that Britney has her own attorney that truly has her vested interest at heart? This new guy used to be a federal prosecutor, so good luck to Jamie Spears if he tries to weasel out of anything that he’s done to Britney since 2008.
This is the day of recknoning for Jamie Spears, Rosengart asked the judge that he step down and that would be his wisest move, but it looks like a judge might actually have to remove him and dissolve the conservatorship altogether. Let’s hope for Britney’s sake she can finally find freedom. Stay tuned!!!
