Sam Asghari, who happens to be Britney Spears’ boyfriend, has opened up on his acting ambitions for the future.
Sam Asghari Dreams Of Playing A Superhero- ‘Marvel or Anybody’
The personal trainer/actor is known for supporting Britney during her conservatorship battle against her father, Jamie Spears. While Britney has been making all the headlines, albeit for the wrong reasons, not much is said about Sam. But it seems he is looking to change all that. In an interview with Variety magazine, Sam outlined his desire to crack the movie business.
He said: “Action is something that I want to do — action, drama, thriller — that’s a genre that I want to really get into. But if you can do comedy, you can do anything.’ My ultimate goal is to really become a well-rounded actor.” So are there any roles that Sam has in mind? By the sounds of it, he has set out his stall pretty high.
He opened up on his desire to follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest actors in playing a superhero. Although such roles have often been criticised for typecasting actors based on their race/ethnicity, Sam does not see that as being a problem. He is looking to use his middle-eastern background as a way to distinguish himself from the rest of the competition.
He added: “Marvel or anybody — they should give me a call…. I’m studying watching. I consider it as my craft. I no longer watch a story of the film: I watch performances.” And one person that Sam looks up to is none other than Dwayne Johnson. The latter has rebranded himself into one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors ever since he transitioned from the wrestling scene.
And Sam has previously spoken on how he wants to follow in the same direction. In a prior interview with Forbes magazine, Sam said: “I look up to Dwayne Johnson…He still came out to Hollywood, and he was able to really break out there and really do any type of roles.”
It will be fascinating to see if Sam can secure his big break, but in the meantime, there is no harm in fans continuing to dream at what could be.
