Britney Spears has dropped a bombshell in her impending memoir, “The Woman in Me,” that she had an abortion while she was dating Justin Timberlake.
She was in a relationship with Justin from 1999 to 2002. The pregnancy happened in late 2000. The couple had many discussions about what they should do.
Britney had dreamt about having a family with Justin one day, and part of her may have wanted to have the child.

People magazine released an excerpt from Britney’s book about her abortion in 2000.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, and we were way too young.”
Britney continued to say that she came from a family who believed having an abortion wasn’t right. Britney claims her religious beliefs were powerful.
She knows many people will disagree with her decision, and she still doesn’t know if it was right.
Britney also said she would have had the baby if the decision were up to her. So, there is some sadness and regret over the whole situation.
Justin didn’t want to be responsible for a baby, as his career took flight with the boy band N’Snyc. He didn’t feel the timing was right.
“To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,”
Britney exclaimed. Justin and Britney met on the All-New Mickey Mouse Club set in 1992 when they were just kids.
They had a highly publicized romance, and they were always seen together. The couple broke up in 2002 amid rumors that she had cheated on him.
Timberlake Released the Video for “Cry Me a River”
The video for Justin Timberlake’s 2002 song, “Cry Me a River,” featured a blond woman who looked much like Britney. Britney received a lot of backlash for supposedly cheating on Justin with someone else.
Justin defends the video, saying that he wrote the song from the intense emotions he was experiencing after his breakup with Britney. He said, “I translated my feelings into a form where people could listen and hopefully relate to it. People heard me and understood because we’ve all been there.”
Timberlake eventually apologized to Britney on Instagram in 2021 for his past treatment of the pop princess and for setting out to benefit in his career from the infamous split.
Britney went on to have two sons, Sean and Jayden, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
Justin eventually had a relationship with Jessica Biel, and they share two sons, Silas and Phineas. Reportedly, Justin is quite concerned about what Britney says about him in her new memoir.
A source close to Britney explains that the book’s purpose is not to burn anyone; it is simply Britney “empowering” herself by finally telling her story.
