British Royal News finds that it looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be spending any holidays with the rest of the royal family anytime soon. As a matter of fact, there are new reports that suggest the couple formerly known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be “punished” for defying Queen Elizabeth and royal protocol. Apparently, Buckingham Palace is none too happy over the fact that Harry and Meghan decided to release their own statement on Instagram before they were given permission from the Queen. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Page Six, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be “punished for their rebellion.” Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth is particularly upset that she was not given a head’s up about their seismic public statement about their plans to step down as senior members of the royal family. The Queen apparently gave Harry strict instructions not to make any announcements after he requested a meeting with her at her Sandringham estate. However, Harry and Meghan decided to do things their way instead. The site does say though that Harry and Meghan did alert Prince Charles and Prince William, but only ten minutes before they posted their statement on Instagram.

Now sources say that their defiance will lead to some major repercussions. Harry was told to give it some time before he made any major decisions. Royal insiders say that their decision to go public was “self-indulgent” on their part.

“Harry and Meghan will be punished for this,” senior courtiers told the press on Thursday. “The way they made this announcement showed little or no respect to the Queen or the Prince of Wales who have been given a lifetime of service to the Crown. It is shocking, just shocking behavior.”
