But for Prince William and Kate Middleton, they wanted to use this opportunity to show the world that the British Royal Family remains by everyone’s side during this challenging time in history. That’s why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to pay tribute to the NHS staff and heroes by visiting a London Ambulance Service 111 call center on Friday. William and Kate defied self-isolating measures by meeting with the staff at a call center in Croydon, a city located south-west of London. The couple had heard how the number of calls had tripled ever since the coronavirus outbreak became a global pandemic.
For many royal critics though, they are questioning the timing of William and Kate’s appearance. After all, many high-profiled figures and celebrities from all over the world have reportedly been infected with the deadly disease. Needless to say, the royal family is not immune and seeing how rapidly the novel coronavirus is spreading, many royal fans are worried that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge might not only have put themselves at risk, but their family, too. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments. However, Prince William did mentioned that because of the outbreak, there’s a possibility that he might check in via video link for possible future engagements. For now, the entire royal family appears to be safe and happy as they practice social distancing along with the rest of the world.
