British royal family news has announced that the Queen will be enjoying a pay rise this year. The reveal comes after it was announced that the remainder of the royal family will be hit with cuts as a result of the long-lasting effects that will be felt from the coronavirus.

However, the cuts will not apply to the Queen as there is a guarantee that her income will never decrease. The revelation came after it was revealed that the earnings of the royal family have doubled over the past twelve years. It was also revealed in the findings that the price of engagements for the royals are also increasing, which is believed to be down to the retirement of Prince Philip.

In the reports, it was also revealed that the Queen’s income from 2013 to this year has increased hugely. Back in 2013, the Queen received £31 million, and this year that total stands at £86 million. It was also a landmark year for the royals as their incomes surpassed £100 million for the very first time due to the ticket sales at royal landmarks such as Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.

The income of the Queen has rose that much over the last couple of years that the prime minister was legally allowed to cap the money. However, Boris Johnson refused to do that. However, it was revealed in the reports that the earning at some of the biggest estates that the Queen owns are going to report losses due to the coronavirus.

The revelation that the coronavirus will have a damaging effect on the income of various charities and royal estates will not come as a shock to many, as it was expected. The pandemic is going to hit all businesses hard, and there was no exception for the royals. The losses will largely be down to the face that many of them have been closed.

Visitors have not been able to attend many of the landmarks throughout the pandemic. One of which is Windsor Castle, with the Queen and Prince Philip having spend their time in lockdown at the castle. It has been reported that they may be set to move to Scotland at the end of the month for the remainder of the summer.
