British royal family news has revealed that Queen Elizabeth may not be able to return to normal life as a working royal for many years. The Sun has revealed that the Queen may not return to life as Her Majesty knows it for years due to fears that public engagements could be too unsafe. The Queen is currently spending her lockdown period at Windsor Castle after having been moved there just a number of weeks before Easter.
Her Majesty could be set to spend the entire summer indoors after there have been doubts that there could still be dangers. That would present a history making circumstance for the Queen, as it would be the longest period that she has been absent from royal duties. It has also been revealed that Her Majesty doesn’t want to slow down, but is following the guidance being given by the government.
British Royal Family News: Longest Time Away From Duties
The Queen would not be able to fulfil any royal duties at this point as it would be going against the guidance being given by Boris Johnson and his government. The British Prime Minister made a speech on Sunday evening, where he revealed his roadmap for getting the United Kingdom out of the current pandemic.
Johnson didn’t lift the lockdown like many were hoping. Instead, he revealed that shops around the country may begin to re-open from June should the government believe that the risk of the virus has gone done. The guidance currently in place is aimed at protecting the older generation of people across the country; which includes the Queen.
British Royal Family News: Queen Has Regular Contact With Johnson
The Queen and Boris Johnson are believed to be in regular communication. Britain’s Prime Minister and Queen regularly hold face to face meetings throughout the year, but during this current pandemic, they have instead opted to talk on the phone.
However, the reports have now revealed that even when Johnson does lift the measures across the country, the Queen may be forced to spend more time indoors until the risk of the virus is completely disappeared. That could mean an end to public engagements for Her Majesty. The country was given a lift on Friday evening as the Queen spoke at length about VE Day, but it could be a while longer until Her Majesty is seen in person.
