British royal family news has revealed that there has been a huge change to the appearance on Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Instagram page. Their account was previously named as @KensingtonRoyal, but eagle-eyed fans of the royals have noticed that this had changed. Their new handle is simply Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The change could indicate that their responsibilities have grown over the past couple of months, as Kate and William have been the most vocal of all royals throughout the current pandemic. William has been seen on television an awful lot throughout the past couple of months. The original Instagram handle was born in January 2015, and was used by William and Kate as well as Prince Harry.
British Royal Family News: Huge Number Of Followers
The account is one of the most followed royal pages, with over 11.8 million followers. The page only follows 102 accounts. This change to their social media account comes just weeks after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were forced to close their account. That decision came about that Harry and Meghan stepped back from their senior royal roles.
Fans have still been able to stay up to date with Harry and Meghan as they have posted regular updates on their own website. The couple are still spending their period of isolation in the United States, where Archie celebrated his birthday last week. It still hasn’t been confirmed whether William spoke to his brother and his son on his special day.
British Royal Family News: Widespread Praise For Prince William And Kate
Prince William and Kate’s popularity over the past couple of months has sky-rocketed as they remain at the forefront of keeping spirits high. This week is a particularly important week for the couple as they have teamed up with a host of celebrities to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. They recorded a message which was played on international and local radio on Monday.
A host of celebrities joined them on the message including David Tennant, Dua Lipa and Anthony Joshua. William also recently starred in a BBC sketch alongside Stephen Fry.
