British Royal Family News suggests there’s a possibility that Prince Harry might be reading this article and yes, he might also scroll down and read the comments section, too. That’s because there’s a new report that says the Duke of Sussex certainly pays attention to all of the criticism that both he and Meghan Markle have gotten over the years, regardless of how ugly they sometimes sound. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the new book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, Prince Harry just can’t help but read all of the comments that sometimes comes from fans and yes, sometimes from trolls, too.
British Royal Family News: Prince Harry Can’t Turn Away From Toxic Criticism
In a new excerpt from The Times, the book suggests that Harry frequently also reads the articles and comments about his wife Meghan, even though they can come off pretty nasty or racist.
The book says, “Scrolling on his iPhone, he sometimes couldn’t stop himself from reading the comments on the articles.”
And while Prince Harry sometimes regrets reading the articles, he keeps doing it over and over again, despite felling horribly afterwards. “His stomach tied into the same knot every time he saw these sorts of comment. ‘It’s a sick part of the society we live in today, and no one is doing anything about it,’ he continued. ‘Where’s the positivity? Why is everyone so miserable and angry?'”
Of course, this isn’t the first time it has been noted that Prince Harry likes to pay attention to the public’s opinion about him. Royal editor and expert Duncan Larcombe once told Cosmopolitan UK that the Duke of Sussex reads comments about himself “religiously.”
Larcome said, “I was always surprised at just how religiously he reads stuff that’s written about him. I think Prince Charles hasn’t read a newspaper in years but Harry, and to some extent William, they almost read everything that’s written. It’s a sign that probably deep down he is worried about what people think of him.”
