British Royal Family News says that Kate Middleton is finally paying all of her patronages a much-needed visit but instead of doing them in person, she’s still doing them virtually. As a matter of fact, some royal critics can’t help but give the Duchess of Cambridge a side eye for paying a virtual visit to the Cloud House addiction treatment center this week. And that’s not because she did it through a video call, but because she hasn’t physically been to the treatment center since 2012. Here’s what you need to know.
During her virtual visit, the future Queen Consort of England spoke with staffers and heard about how the center has been making significant changes to its tactics during the pandemic and how people with addictions are coping during this very uncertain but also challenging time we are living in.
British Royal Family News: Kate Middleton Criticized For Latest Virtual Visit
The Duchess of Cambridge said, “The worrying thing is, it is all those people who aren’t necessarily reaching out who are struggling, who perhaps don’t feel they can reach out.”
She added, “Or the fact that maybe they haven’t realized that addictive behaviors have sort of established, particularly if it’s the first time—and it’s those people who aren’t necessarily being vocal about it, it’s making sure that they know they can reach out and that you are there to help and support them in this very difficult time.”
While both Prince William and Kate Middleton have been keeping rather busy with their virtual phone calls, a lot of royal critics have pointed out that they are finally reaching out to some patronages that they haven’t had any contact with in over several years. As there’s no doubting that the coronavirus pandemic has certainly given many people more time to catch up on their work, could this mean that Prince William and Kate Middleton will also be stepping it up as far as their workload is concerned? That’s what some fans are hoping for! Some comments from critics have included, “This is not the only patronage she has done the least for, there is EACH and Art Room. Both of which she has done about 2 events for,” along with, “It must have grated on him that after 8 years of no visits their organization gets pulled in to help up her working numbers and to show the public she is doing something. And forgive me for comparing, but if I were him it would be irksome to see how much attention and funding Meghan was able to attract for her patronages in such a short time, while his organization is stuck with a patron who lacks initiative.”
