British Royal Family News says that while the world might never be the same again because of the coronavirus pandemic, the same can definitely be said about Queen Elizabeth and her reign. As a matter of fact, there is one royal expert that believes The Queen’s reign is effectively over because of the pandemic, seeing how she has been forced to isolate herself at Windsor Castle. That, and the possibility that the public might not be seeing the Queen out and about again for a very long time. Here’s what you need to know.

Speaking to The Telegraph in a new interview, royal biographer Andrew Morton offers this, “It’s terribly sad but I can’t see how the Queen can resume her job. The COVID-19 virus isn’t going away soon and will be with us for months if not years.’ He added that it would be ‘far too risky for the Queen to start meeting people on a regular basis. She has always loved getting out and meeting people but she can’t take the risk. The brutal truth is that her reign is effectively over. COVID-19 has done more damage to the monarchy than Oliver Cromwell. Corona has practically put Charles on the throne.”

This isn’t the first time that Andrew Morton has questioned the future of the monarchy and Queen Elizabeth’s role moving forward. He believes that it might be a very long time, if not a full year, before the Queen will be seen in public again. While it appears as though she won’t have any royal engagements scheduled for at least the fall, there’s a very good chance that she might continue her work through phone calls and Zoom chats. However, a spokesperson has confirmed that the monarch continues to stay busy as she is still conducting a weekly audience with the Prime Minister by phone and receiving her daily red boxes of government papers.

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the report. In the meantime, let us know what you think by leaving us a line with your thoughts in our comments section below.
