King Charles received a sweet gift from a young boy and paid tribute to the Southport stabbing victims. The monarch visited Southport on August 20th to commemorate the children who were horrifically killed in July.
King Charles Visited The Children’s Memorial Site
The boy gave Charles a small red pocket heart, which he had created for the royal. As the child waved the red silk heart in the air, the person pointed to it before saying, “He’s got a little heart for you, sir.” The King affectionately patted the boy on the head and said, “That’s very kind.”
England has never seen an attack like this on children before. The attack took place at a Taylor Swift-themed event at a dance school in northwest England.
The UK is in shock as they are mourning the deaths of three young girls: Nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, six-year-old Bebe King, and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, who lost their lives at Hart Space Community Centre.
The day after the attack, Charles released a statement saying he was “profoundly shocked” by the violence against children.
“We send our most heartfelt condolences, prayers, and deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those who have so tragically lost their lives and all those affected by this truly appalling attack.”
Charles also visited the memorial for the children, which displayed colorful flowers, plants, balloons, and stuffed animals. The King was deeply moved by the tributes left in memory of the victims. One of the messages left in their honor read,
“God has gained three beautiful new angels. May you dance forever in heaven and be at peace.”
King Charles Invited Victim’s Families In Show Of Support
Police arrested the seventeen-year-old suspect. Misinformation on social media claimed the suspect was a Muslim asylum seeker, which sparked an outbreak of riots.
The guilty party is named Axel Rudakubana, and he’s in police custody for three counts of murder and ten of attempted murder.
King Charles invited the victims’ families, injured children, and their parents to a private meeting at Clarence House. The King postponed his annual trip to Balmoral to hold this meeting.
King Charles comforted them and showed compassion. He expressed his sympathy for the families, letting them know his heart goes out to them.
His Majesty engaged privately with those affected by the event. He has spent much of his life as the Prince of Wales and as King, working to unite communities.
Elsie Dot Stancombe Was Laid To Rest Today
On August 23rd, the family of Elsie Dot Stancombe paid tribute to their daughter, who perished in the attack, ahead of her funeral at St. John’s church.
Elsie’s parents, Jenni and David, her younger sister, Rosie, and the rest of the family came together to celebrate this little girl’s life.
Mr. and Mrs. Stancombe released a sweet black-and-white photo of them together. They said they were the “four best friends in the whole wide world.”
They said that Elsie would be “forever in our hearts.” They added, “Elsie spent every day simply enjoying life with determination, persistence, love, and kindness.”
The shock and horror of the events that took place is unspeakable. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s loved ones and the innocent lives lost.
