Back in March, Meghan Markle felt it was important enough to announce her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, as Prince William took the stage to speak at the Diana Legacy Awards.
Meghan Markle Is Neither Down-To-Earth Nor Approachable
The Sussexes raised eyebrows from royal fans as their timing was no coincidence. Meghan Markle wants to upstage the royal family. And Prince Harry is along for the ride.
Meghan posted on Instagram that she was wearing a long black evening gown, arranging flowers, and baking in a perfect-looking kitchen. In the background, she played the song “I Wish You Love” by Nancy Wilson.
About a month later, the Duchess sent 50 jars of fruit jam. She sent jam to a select group of influencers and high-profile friends. The group included Chrissy Teigen and Kris Jenner.
Many of them put their jars of jam in eye-catching photos. They included a basket of lemons or other Martha Stewart-inspired still-life images. Some posed cheerfully with the jars of jam. They all looked about as ridiculous as Meghan Markle looked baking, wearing an evening gown in her kitchen.
It is rumored that Meghan modeled much of her ARO brand after Chip and Joanna Gaines’s Magnolia brand. Some would say she outright copied the Gaines’ style, which will be demonstrated even more when her Netflix cooking show hits the streaming giant.
Business advertiser Rachel Richardson suggested that Meghan is not exactly the next Joanna Gaines. Gaines is down to earth and approachable, which Meghan pretends to be, but she’s more narcissistic and manipulative behind closed doors.
“Authenticity is key in the lifestyle arena, and those who succeed have to be willing to share their whole lives,” Richardson said. In the Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary and the Oprah interview, Meghan let cameras capture some aspects of her private life. But to pull off a successful lifestyle show, she’ll have to be prepared to swing the door all the way open.”
Meghan’s List Of Products Mimic The Magnolia Brand
When examining Meghan’s list of products she’ll sell for ARO, one can see the striking similarities between what Joanna Gaines did with her lifestyle brand and what Princess Pinocchio is trying to do. Some of the items Meghan will sell include stationery, kitchen goods, food like jam, home décor, and bath accessories.
Other items she’s selling are more outrageous and bizarre, like party decorations and dog biscuits. It seems that in addition to copying Joanna Gaines’ authentic style, Meghan also wants to have her hand in every cookie jar possible.
Joanna Gaines achieved massive success on her own Netflix cooking show, “Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines,” Meghan has her work cut out for her.
Meghan aims to change public perception of her to make herself seem more relatable. However, many of the people who will watch her show are only watching to see the inevitable train wreck.
They certainly aren’t interested in hearing the Ivory dish soap commercial story for the twenty-seventh time. Joanna is also warm and wholesome, which are qualities that Meghan sorely lacks.
Many people think Meghan’s foray into the lifestyle brand is the natural progression from her days with her lifestyle blog, “The Tig,” but we believe there’s more to the story than that. The theory that she’s ripping off Joanna Gaines holds water.
