If narcissism had a face, it would be Meghan Markle. As if always putting on an act, she presents herself as down-to-earth and relatable, but if you look back at past interviews and speeches, she’s more two-faced, controlling, and egotistical.
Meghan Markle Controlled Her And Harry’s Engagement Interview
This is especially true in her relationship with Prince Harry. Taking a deep dive into her persona, it doesn’t hurt to analyze her in these situations, as it gives you a better idea of who she is.
In the engagement interview with Harry and Meghan, she tends to restrict what Harry says to control the viewer’s perception of her.
Meghan Markle constantly interrupts Harry and limits what he says to ensure she leads the interview. She wouldn’t let Harry get a word in edgewise.
The Duchess of Sussex always does “damage control,” even when there is no damage. She makes statements that sound “bashful” and “classy.”
When Harry said that he did not know who she was before they met, it’s evident that bothers Meghan and wounds her narcissistic psyche.
So, of course, in turn, she claimed not to know who Harry was, but there was no way she didn’t know. She specifically wore Princess Diana’s favorite perfume, Penhaligon’s Bluebell, on her first date with Harry to overwhelm him with memories of his mother.
Meghan was embarrassed at that point in the interview and claimed not to know who Harry was as a way to control the narrative.
She explained that she asked the person who set her up on a blind date, “Is he nice?” It’s laughable because she set out to date a wealthy British man, whether he was nice or not.
Meghan Exaggerated Her Experiences With The Royal Family During Her And Harry’s Oprah Interview
It’s always important for Meghan to pilot the conversation in the direction she wants it to go. This was obvious during Harry and Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah.
When Harry tried to explain Meghan’s “mental health issues,” Meghan interrupted him and played the victim card and tried to gain sympathy.
Meghan said,
“Look, I was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry, especially because I know how much loss he suffered. But I knew that if I didn’t say it, that I would do it (….) and that was very clear and real and frightening constant thought…”
She then talks about how the royal family discouraged her from getting help.
The way she exaggerated what she experienced revealed a sense of entitlement. Meghan wanted everyone to know that Harry’s family allegedly wasn’t supportive.
Meghan’s Speech At The UN Women’s 20th Anniversary Conference
During her address at the UN Women’s 20th Anniversary at the Fourth World Conference of Women In Bejing event in 2015, she talked about accidentally becoming a female advocate. When she was eleven years old, she wrote to a dishwashing soap manufacturer about how offensive and sexist their commercial was, and she also wrote to First Lady Hilary Clinton about the commercial.
As she told the story, Meghan would frequently pause for acknowledgment, telling the audience how to respond, like the way a sitcom has a laugh track. She needed that response before continuing.
Meghan would intentionally pause for laughter, applause, and recognition from the audience as if to highlight how important what she was saying was. She made it a point to let every person know that because of eleven-year-old Meghan Markle, Proctor & Gamble changed the soap commercial.
According to Meghan, It was at that “pivotal moment” that she realized the “magnitude of my actions.” What is infuriating the most about Meghan is that she tends to draw conclusions for the audience in an expert maneuver to “tell” them what to think of her.
Meghan’s Speech At The One Young World Summit
At the One Young World Summit in 2022, people expected her to talk about the organization. Instead, she was keen to talk about herself throughout her s**t speech.
Meghan talked about how she “made it” and her pinch-me moment of “How did I get here?” in an effort to bring up her extra special, “amazing” achievements: she was now married and a mom.
Meghan can change or alter her personality to suit her purpose. When she gives speeches, she always makes it seem like her words mean more than any words that have ever been spoken.
In truth, she talks a lot without saying much. But remember, not everyone can give self-entitled speeches like her. Whether with Harry or flying solo at an awards ceremony, Meghan loves to inflate her self-importance the way that only the Duchess of Sussex can.
