After parting ways with the band seven years ago, Tom DeLonge is back on stage with Blink-182 this time around. The trio of Tom, Travis Barker, and Mark Hoppus announced their reunion on Tuesday with a hilarious video, which also teases the release of a brand-new album!
The world tour begins in Mexico in March and moves to the United States a few months later. Additionally, they will release a new single on Friday called “Edging.” It will be the trio’s first brand-new song in ten years.
Blink-182 Is OFFICIALLY Going On A Reunion Tour! Tom, Mark & Travis Are Back!
The three of them collaborated until their initial breakup in 2005; they got back together four years later, but Tom declared he was officially gay in 2015. Now, to quote the late Michael Corleone, “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!!!”
Since he was one of only two survivors of a fatal plane crash in 2008 and had to undergo numerous surgeries as well as spend several months in a burn unit, Travis embarking on a world tour is significant, as you are probably aware. The drummer has avoided flying ever since, but he made progress last year when he flew with his then-fiancée Kourtney Kardashian for the first time in 13 years.
It’s wonderful to see Mark with his bandmates as well; as we previously mentioned, he struggled with cancer last year. He’s officially cancer free now and it seemed like a huge weight had been lifted off of him. We’re looking forward to seeing them all on stage together again and it seems like the stars have aligned for this special reunion.
