Love is in the air for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, but according to Bezos himself, a lavish $600 million wedding in Aspen is not. The Amazon founder took to social media on Sunday to debunk a recent report by the Daily Mail, calling it “completely false.”
The Daily Mail had claimed the couple, engaged since May 2023, would be exchanging vows in a Christmas ceremony at a ski town in Colorado. The report, citing an anonymous “well-placed source,” went on to paint a picture of an extravagant affair with a price tag to match – a staggering $600 million.
Jeff Bezos Shoots Down Rumors of Super Extravagant $600 Million Wedding with Lauren Sánchez: “Don’t Be Gullible!”
Bezos, however, scoffed at the notion. In a social media post, he urged his followers to be wary of sensational headlines, stating, “The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than it ever has been.” He further emphasized the importance of media literacy, advising his audience to “be careful out there” and “don’t be gullible.”
While Bezos has denied the rumors, details about his actual wedding plans remain under wraps. The couple has largely kept their relationship private since news of their romance first surfaced in 2019. They maintained a low profile throughout Bezos’ divorce from his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, which was finalized that same year.
Sánchez, a former entertainment reporter, and Bezos have been together since 2018. Last May, Page Six exclusively reported that Bezos popped the question with a stunning 20-carat diamond ring, estimated to be worth a cool $2.5 million.
Whether or not they choose to celebrate their upcoming nuptials in a grand or intimate setting, one thing remains certain: Bezos and Sánchez are ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives together. While the public may have to wait for official confirmation, it’s clear Bezos wants to ensure the focus remains on their love story, not outlandish rumors.
